With SugarCRM 6.5 getting ready for its general availability release next month, many users are wondering whether or not they should upgrade. With each release comes new features and benefits, but you need to take a look at what really matters to your organization and your users. I haven't seen any reason why you should not upgrade to Sugar 6.5.
Here's what we have seen:
Sugar 6.5 delivers a better user experience. It pulls together a cleaner interface that is far less cluttered than previous versions, not to mention other CRM systems. Sugar 6.5 gives you the maximum screen real estate possible, with the most relevant information displayed. It is more intuitive and it is said to be the fastest CRM on the market today.
Sugar 6.5's new full text search navigation is being compared to searching in Google. This makes finding information within your system fast, intuitive and targeted, increasing both time and productivity.
Sugar 6.5 sports an updated calendar with iCal and Outlook integration. Reps from SugarCRM say the drag and drop UI and recurring meeting features help to make the Sugar 6.5 calendar the most intuitive CRM calendar available. In case you are like me and unfamiliar with iCalendar, it is used and supported by many calendars, including:
- Google Calendar
- Apple iCal
- GoDaddy Online Group Calendar
- IBM Lotus Notes
- Yahoo! Calendar
- Lighting extension for Mozilla Thunderbird and SeaMonkey
