Technical Architect (ARC1) - SugarCRM

Position Summary
The ideal person for this position is a master of enterprise-level technical design and development. You must have extensive knowledge of methodologies, programming/coding, design, documentation and an impressive track record of successfully implemented projects. You also have an uncanny ability to find elegant solutions to complex problems and can readily spot opportunities and come up with ideas for creating reusable products.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Create complex requirements and design documents and perform heavy coding for enterprise-level projects
• Conduct client interviews
• Gather and document customer requirements for corporate-level projects
• Coordinate and run JAD sessions
• Working knowledge of UML
• Working knowledge of CMM
• Create and manage project plans
• Identify opportunities and create the subsequent detailed design and specifications for reusable software products

Expectations
You are the lead person responsible for successfully delivering and implementing assigned product lines for our customers. You handle customer engagements typically valued at over $150,000 in services (over and above product cost). These are often large, complex, multi-phase projects. You have complete and detailed functional knowledge of all assigned product lines and can clearly communicate what the product is (and is not) capable of doing. You also have detailed knowledge of development capabilities of the product(s) and can analyze and clearly explain to clients how the product(s) may be customized or modified (or what limits may exist) to meet client-specific requirements.

Knowledge & Skills 
• Excellent task management skills that enable you to handle multiple projects that may vary in scope and size
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) that yield highly effective interaction with clients and other TAI staff
• Detailed knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
• Proficient with Joint Application Design/Development (JAD) methodology and able to facilitate JAD sessions
• Proficient in entire lifecycle methodology
• Deep working knowledge of SugarCRM

Working Conditions
• Office environment
• Various client environments
• Up to 20% travel may be required

 Education, Experience and Certifications
• 4-year degree or equivalent experience 
• 5-10 years of progressively complex, successfully delivered projects
• Certified Developer in at least 3 products

Advancement Opportunities
Normal advancement path for this position is to Senior Technical Architect (ARC2)

Advancement Criteria
Demonstrated ability to fulfill all duties and responsibilities of the ARC1 position at an excellent or outstanding level
