Once you have sent your email campaign message, you will want to track the success of your message.

Open your campaign in SugarCRM and click the “View Status” button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Use the chart to analyze high-level trends from your Campaign. Compare the number of messages sent to the number of opens, clicks, and opt-outs.

Next, drill down into the detailed lists available on the subpanels below the chart. Determine how to appropriately follow-up with each group of recipients.

For example, everyone who opened your email showed at least a minimal amount of interest in your message. You may want to follow up to this group with an additional email a week or two later, perhaps with an offer to entice them to act on this interest. You can add the entire group to a new (or existing) target list by clicking the “Add to Target List” button just below the subpanel title.

You may want to schedule individual follow-up calls with recipients who showed a higher level of interest by clicking one or more links from your message. You can sort by number of clicks to prioritize which people to call first.

You might also want to alert the assigned sales representative of any bounced-back messages so that they can follow up with their contact/lead and get an updated email address.

In our final post in this series, we will talk about third party marketing tools and how to determine if you need one. While you’re waiting, if you missed any of our previous posts on using Campaigns, you can use the links below to catch up:
